<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.net/images/stories/east-india.gif" border="0" class="linked-image" />For those of you that don't sail far from port, just a quick word about a thread on the official East India forum over at <a href="http://forum.paradoxplaza.com" target="_blank">Paradox</a>.  Originally the thread was about Kim's recent video interview but has not turned into a small Q&A with Kim.  A number of issues have been raised from way points, tactical reasoning as well as piracy (or lack thereof). If you have some interest in EIC and are looking for a bit more information it's a good read, visit it <a href="http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=401399&page=2" target="_blank">HERE</a>

LOL! People get mad about waypoints. That IS the way ships are sailed, you know...? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />
Or at least the way in which the track is planned. Then you'd try to follow that track.
Personally I'm not particularly interested in EIC, mainly due to my lack of time and active engagement elsewhere.
But it strikes me that if you can set waypoints, it'd be nice if the captain on the ship might be somewhat intelligent and tack on his own. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Great interview, it's nice to see some actual in game footage! One of the best way point systems I have ever seen in a game was in 1503, unfortunately, it was also full of bugs. I'm curious to see exactly how trade routes are handled, that was a major flaw in 1503. Port Royal and Patrician had pretty good economic models, I am really curious to see how EIC handles the economy. We know that the player can engage in at least some piracy, but does the AI do this as well? It's really to bad they decided not to focus a little more on the piracy aspect. Based on what I have seen so far, I will probably buy this game.
