I read awhile ago about adding wine, ale & fruit to the food consumption by the crew.Is this possible to go into a certain file & type it in or is there more to it?

I don´t know anything about food consuming but I should have done this:

Search for all files whith the word wheat, & check them. (The file DailyCrewUpdate looks promising...)

Maybe go for rum as well?

I remember there is some possibility to change rations when speaking to an officer. That may have to be changed too.

Earlier there was some autobuy function in stores. That have to be checked too...

Then I guess you have to decide if "fruit" is "food" & if ale, wine are equal to rum. (If rum in the game means something to crew moral or starving or whatsoever...)

Maybe scurvy could come out of this mod? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

There has been talk of this, but nothing has actually been done yet. It would be nice to add such a mod in Build 14. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

I think if it's added then wine and ale should be consumed at twice the rate of rum, and fruit should be consumed at twice the rate of wheat for the same effect. Adding fruit to wheat rations would be good for preventing scurvy, but you wouldn't want to have to live on it.

Rum could be watered down, which is probably why we need only half as much at normal rations. I'm not sure sailors would be as happy with watering down wine or ale.
