Frequent Crash & other problems

Hello. New here, so there's a chance that somebody asked that question earlier but what could I do, ther are too many posts.
I am afraid of entering any option in the F2 menu since half the times I do that the game causes my PC to restart.
That caused me to save every ten minutes or so. But when potc noticed my precaution it decided to restart my PC half the time I try to save.

Also: When I have finally defeated the Black Pearl the game didnt let me go on, but instead it quit to the game menu, with the only option of a new game. When I tried to start a new game I discovered it doesnt remember I have ever played - no items, no danielle and no level progress.

And last: Are there any cutscenes in the game? because every time something big happens I feel that I have missed something - after danielle took the gem from the alcove, I have suddenly appeared on the shore, with no explanation whatsoever.

Help, Please help. please?

Are you playing PotC straight out of the box, with no mods whatsoever? It's a very (unfortunately) buggy game. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> There is a patch to fix some of the problems, but it was only released for the RUSSIAN version of the game. You will be truly better off with our Build 12 mods added to your game (we have fixed A LOT of the problems that were in the game, as well as added a LOT of new content and interesting things to do and see and play with).

Also, the stock PotC will not let you play past the end of the game, which is after you defeat the Black Pearl. The modded game allows you to play past defeating the Black Pearl.

Without any cutscenes, I am sure you are confused by what is going on in the game. If you tell us more about your computer (video card, how much RAM, that kind of thing) perhaps we can track down your troubles and get you into playing SERIOUS PotC... It may be you need an updated driver for your video card.

Adapter - Radeon 9200 128MB
Processor - Pentium 4E 2.466 GHrtz
Memory - 256MB DDR
OS - WinXP Pro, SP2

I might handle the russian patch, don't know yet.

I have installed build 12, and three more problems arose:
1 - for no reason at all armed people in oxbay started attacking me for no reason.
2 - in the F2 menu i could not press any button, non of them responded.
3 - Where are the blacksmiths located?

Catalina, hope not to have any more `time-taking`-bugging questions, and that these are the last.

The Russian patch works SFAIK only with the Russian version, because that version uses different copy protection.

1. You need to read the readmes included in the build. They will explain most all the mods--and, more importantly, how to tweak them or turn them off.
2. Go to options->controls->reset controls to default. The build adds many new key commands, and whenever a key command is added you must reset the controls.
3. Do you have Build 12, or Pieter's ModPack compilation addition to it?
If the former, on the docks at Douwesen (wearing the Blaze/Nathaniel Hawk skin); if the latter, in various houses (ask citizens for directions).

In your other topic, I think Nathan has hit the nail on the head regarding the cutscenes - I was going to suggest it but wanted to hold off until I saw what your system was like... But you should try that, most definitely.
