Fixed Gaining too much Experience when fighting Clint Eastwood with Auto Skill OFF

ANSEL

Corsair
Storm Modder
Hearts of Oak Donator
This is what happens fighting Clint Eastwood with auto skills of seadogs2_0008.jpg :shock
Latest update. I was checking this because I remember @Pieter Boelen has made
some adjustment with auto skill of recently. I use to play with auto skill of, but in
the lastest time im beginning to play with auto skill on, to be sure everything is working
alright. It ought to work alright with both options. I played with auto skill of because I
like to build the persons up the way I like them to be. Its some of the things in the game
I think is interesting or fun.

Ah, that must be why that limit used to be in the code.
I removed that a few months back because you reported getting not enough XP in that same situation.
Can't seem to get this one right, can we? I'll see if I can find that line back again.

Do you have a save just prior to that point?

I will try it out. But I think its a new behavior , I have been fighting Eastwood, blackbeard and the lady in red at tortuga
a lot of time after you removed that limit and it worked OK every time.

This is better. Fighting Eastwood gives now: Abilities 6, Skills 12.
I still dont understand why its suddenly happens again.

Can you play through it with and without Auto Skill OFF?

Anyway, I suppose I'll be adding that section back in for the next modpack.
We saw last time it doesn't do any harm; it just gives you less XP than you would get otherwise.

Savegame just before going to fight Eastwood

Yes odd! some of the skills goes to accuracy. I chance to auto skill on in the same game, maybe this is not a good thing
to do?
I mean.... the screenshot you have as "before" has you at level 4 with Fencing 7.
Then "after" you have level 8 but Fencing 5. Does that actually happen???

Yes! thats exactly what happens. You can see it in the savegame I posted. From the savegame, witch have auto skill of, I went
directly to the fight, when is was over I load the savegame again, turn auto skill on and go to the fight. Thats what I have done.

@Pieter Boelen : For your information I have unlock all perks in this game.
Dont know if it has any relevance?
Why would you think that could be related?

The only explanation I can think of is that if you increase your player skills with Auto Skill System OFF, some numbers may not be increased the same way as with Auto Skill System ON.
So when you have it off first and then switch it on, your skills go backwards because you don't have the numbers required with it on.
I have no clue if that is actually the case though.

If that IS true though, it means any player who sticks with ON or OFF throughout the game should be fine.
It would only become an issue if you switch in mid-game.
Which probably players wouldn't do. Except when I ask them to for testing purposes! :rofl

If you play with unlocked perks, some of them are marked as if you have them, though you in fact
dont have them. Just to let you know.

Huh? HUH? Can you explain? Do any of your officers have them and contribute them then? :shock

My lack of English words make it difficult to express me self. But some of the perks
are ticked, in the interface, as I have them, witch I havent, it goes for me and my officers too.
When I get a perk I can add it to the ticked perk, and it work alright. So the perks are ticked
even if I dont have them.
