Game crashes after 30 seconds

Hi to all of you,

I seem to have the same problem as many others, as Pirates crashes after trying to run it. I get the Firaxis and Atari screens but after that the game crashes and I get a notice that Pirates has found an error and will shut down.

My hardware meets the requirements and I have DirectX9c installed. I have a brand new laptop with a centrino 1,7MHz and Ati Radeon 9700 videocard and all latest drivers.

If anyonne can help me, I would appreciate it? Thank you!

OK. Found a solution while reading old threads. Downloaded a omega driver for my videocard and after a couple of times trying to start the game it functions well. The first time the game was running, but all the details were missing. After restarting the computer a second time, the game runs a it should.

Funny that the original driver for the ATI Radeon 9700 videocard does not support this game.
