Hi, i've read through a few of the threads here but havent found anyone with the same problem as mine.

When i run the game in safe mode there are no problems (except crappy graphics). Whenever i try to start the game properly (not in safe mode) i only get to the first black screen with the turning wheel, then it crashes to desktop and i get the Mircrosoft dialog box asking me if i want to send an error report (and if i try search for the problem it freezes). Anybody else have the same problem, or know how to fix it?

I have recently updatet all my drivers and my computer should have no problems handling this game.

I am experiencing the same problem, but have found no solutions as yet.

I did also have the same problem, but i experienced some minor glitches playing in safe mode as well.

but i managed to find the cure for my problem at least.

i first ran pirates with a Geforce 4 MX440 card, but after replacing the MX with a TI 4200 the problems dissapeared. now pirates starts up normally without any problems what so ever...

the MX cards does have issues with several other titles as well, and i noticed this myself. for after my success with pirates i tried to run a couple of other games i had which i got the same problem with and they now worked perfectly...

now, i dont know if any of you got a MX card in your system, but that did seem to be the problem on my part anyways...

Thanks |Hardcore|. I use the same card, so it might me cause of my troubles as well. Too bad i dont have any other graphics cards to replace it with. Anyway, kudos to Firxis for making the "safe mode" option, so we can at least play the game, albeit not to the full extent, its something i often miss when bying a new game. Instead of just playing the game, one has to sit for hours figuring out how to get it running at all.

I also have the same problem but it boots me out after the black wheel screen and gives me a Direct X error. I've reinstalled DX9c, and tried the last 8 revisions of the driver and it still won't work. Funny thing is - it used to work but would hard freeze sometimes during a duelling scene.
