I'm a historical reenactor, specialized in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic period. My specific unit is portraying a unit of marines and sailors from the Dutch navy during this period So everything is age of sail related and I thought, why not show some of the clothing and gear I have?
So to start off, here is my model 1797 marine private uniform coat.
This specific style is known as a 'Habite Longue' officially. In Dutch we refer to it as a 'rokjas', a tailcoat. It's made of 100% wool. The buttons are incorrect however, they are made of pewter while they should be made of copper. It's a temporary solution as this coat is in fact brand new and I still have to order a batch of copper buttons.
I have much more to show in case people are interested.
