Okay I know this has been asked before but lets try again eh?

All round ship in the game is?.....

I am stuck between choosing "The Brig Of War" or "The Royal Sloop" (or sloop of any kind actually).

As I cannot find a SOTL I am going to keep with the smaller ships, what do you all say? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" />

Brig of War. Almost the same size as a frigate in all respects, but faster and nimbler.
The sloop´s too small and fragile for my taste, even the Royal one.

But choosing the "right" ship is always a question of style. If you win your battles by fencing, you might want to take something small and fast, to avoid long cannon duells and go right in for boarding. If you´re more of a cannon guy, you´d want a ship able to both deal and take a good amount of fire, so it would be a (Large) Frigate or even a War or Flag Galleon.

Me, I´m somewhere in between, hence my choice of the brig- class ships.

Nothing is more satisfying than outwitting a SOTL or a Frigate using a Mail Runner dancing around and killing at least half the men contained on the ship.
