You people now have company from the old world, Germany, to be exactly..

Well, I own the game since I spotted it on Friday (the old Pirates! was one of the first games to encounter my sight on C64, back in the days, so I just knew what to do <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="keith.gif" /> ..) and I'm getting used to it pretty fast, I can already survive kinda well on skill lvl 4 / 5 . Just one thing drives me nuts (as in real live) - dancing !

I just don't seem to get along with that correctly.. anyone got hints ?

Practice, practice, practice - I learned to dance one Saturday morning while waiting for my g/f to wake up.

Get to a point where you are offered a dance and accept. Then just keep reloading the game (from the "Arrival" save, which it makes automatically) and try again.

Start Apprentice / Wit and Charm. I can now manage to dance with even Beautiful daughters on Journeyman (my prefered level) with Skill at Medicine (most of the time . . . <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> )

And if you are offered spangly shoes, buy them!

For dancing you have to watch the girl's hands and practice a lot

just a lil' practice, and everything turns out to be quite simple
(at least in apprentice mode, i can get married easily now)

now only the beautiful governor's daughter on the florida keys just killed me with that slightly spanish sounding rhythm - well well well - i'm off, need a lil dancing practice ! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

I think fencing is quite easy. After a while you should know which moves come after the first two. For example, after left (4) and turnaround left (1), it will ALWAYS be followed by the same move three times. If its forward (<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="8)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />, backward (2), its always followed by left turn (1) twice and then backward (2), forward (<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="8)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> and twice turn right (6). If you keep that in mind, dancing will be no problem after a while.
