Got the game over xmas, was totally frustrated with installation being interrupted at the publishing info stage... did everything under the sun, almost.
finally what worked to compete the install were these 2 things...
1. make sure you have the language pack needed - i had to install chinese (!!) from my winXP cd - regional settings. this alone didn't make the install successful.
2. Had to update windows to net frame 1.1
No problems whatsoever after doing these two things.
2.4g P4, 768MB ram, ati 9700pro winXP Pro SP2
Of course there may be other issues one might encounter such as an older msi (ms installer) - you need at least version 8.
As for gfx glitches and other bugs/issues... that's not my area of expertise.
