This is a cool movie showing our valiant though failed attempt to get into Prince Christian Sund, Greenland during this year's Voyage of the Vikings. It does show the amazing amount of icebergs we went to plough through. It was an interesting day to be sure.
This movie is made by the son of the Captain who was on board at the time.
Yes, I was on board at the time and took over the conning of the ship pretty much right at the end of the movie. After that, there was still quite some icebergs to dodge for me, but not quite to the extent shown here.
Then it got even more fun with a mystery white stripe on the horizon of which we couldn't figure out what it was. Until we found that it was another icefield for us to avoid.
So we kept going further and further South while our destination was Reykjavik, which was rather more to the North-East of us.
