Macs, anyone?

I want to be buying a macbook aluminium 2.0ghz for 900 quid soon but am wondering whether I will be able to play potc, or indeed, if anyone is familiar with it; Diadochi: Total War (a rome; total war build mod which is also on moddb) to decent frame rates. Both these games work (ok) on my machine I have now. Nonetheless, Im wondering whether anyone here has an imac or macbook with OS Leopard, on which they run windows XP. (preferably from the new alu range) Ive tried talking to a mac expert on apple.com but all he could say was that a 'mac is superior in every way'. (Predictable, huh?) Now, don't get me wrong; Im sure it is, but looking at the link ive put below, it looks a little too good to be true for a low-end mac. I want an informed opinion; so, does anyone here play potc on a mac; and if so, is the performance good or bad for the spec of the machine? Mainly why im asking this is because I shall be getting rid of my existing machine to pay for the cursed thing so I must know if it will play potc. Don't want me getting withdrawal symptoms now, do you!?

To be honest with you, I hate macs. I've just been a windows user my whole life. It depends on what your using mac for (protunes, Abobe software, high resolution viewing, etc.) I honestly hate them. Don't play any games on a mac laptop either their design is flawed. There so skinny and compact that they can easily heat up on you and that's a bad thing. Just make sure you compare your optins of laptops, and as for the pirate games here they all run on windows...

Running windows on macs should´nt be a problem anymore. Mac Corporation developed this thing called boot camp, that makes you able to run win-apps inside mac. Also, there is WMware, that can run an OS like windows in a completely native environment, meaning: just like a fresh install on your mac. Last but not least, you can install windows as a dual partition on your mac.

Be sure to check in forums with other users first, tho. InsanelyMac is a good forum to ask about this stuff.

I've got an "old" MacBook (2008) lying around and I've got to say that Mac OSX is a very stable operating system, now this laptop might not be ideal for gaming because of it's low specs but for my web design etc it's perfect. I'm using MAC OSX Tiger myself so I don't know about Leopard but as people said in previous posts you can use bootcamp to run Windows or you can always download a program which allows you to run a pretty large group of the Windows only apps.
If you got one of those programs you should be able to play PotC and looking at the tech specs even more.
Just some advice if you're really going to buy a laptop, don't buy a white one (if they are still selling them). Sure the black edition might cost you a tiny bit more but they don't get dirty that fast.
