Main Quest Broken at St. Pierre

Jason

Buccaneer
Storm Modder
As I reported earier the build A 10 threard the main quest is borken when you try to stop the ammunition ship at St, Pierre. When you go to the port from your ship, you get a runtime error. Playing a new game it happened again. I am sure it is not in the location files because I successfully landed and went to the port in the game before I triggered the main quest at Barbados. So.... I think the problem is in the quest.

I have managed to play this part of the quest ok.

Tried sailing from Barbados straight to St Pierre, Martinique.

Also sailing back to Port Royale and reporting to Silehard then going to St Pierre.

Both worked, managed to sink the Ammunition ship both times. :shrug

(Also no problem with either Moor or Port Command )

Using Build 14 Alpha 10 Full Installation + Fix

All that appeared in the error log is :-

RUNTIME ERROR - file: seadogs.c; line: 791
Ghost A reference

Yep when I said I knew people who had finished the main quest Talisman was one of them people, I wonder what is up with your game though Jason :shrug

The only thing I can figure is I might have missed a fix somewhere along the line but two different new games have produced the same result.

Jason

Have you tried landing at Octopus Bay, Martinique?

Then going through the jungle to the Port to talk to Faust Gasquet on the jetty and seeing if the game continues.

Or does the game break wherever you land on Martinique?

Yes and that doesn't work either, the first time I did it I got into the city and the game crashed when I went to the port. The second time I went to Octopus Bay and the game crashed when I tried to goto the store.

I have re downloaded the fix which I reinstalled, loaded a save game and then tried from there and got the CTD.

I will now try to start with a new game.

Ok, now I am very unhappy. I went back and downloaded and installed the fix from the first page and now I can't save. Same problem as before I can't save and the game can't find my profile. That was working fine before I downloaded the fix that was recommended. It looks like that doesn't include the fix that was made on the save problem a while ago. What the H?

I did, and while got four saves in that problem recurrs. Perhaps I didn't get the correct version of that fix. When I have more time I will look into it later today. Presumably at some point someone will identify all the issues that have been raised with this version which ones have been fixed, which ones haven't and integrate all of the fixes into the next release.

From what I understand, this should be good:

I wished there were some people still actively working on fixing the game.
Where's Screwface and Hook?

Actually, I know where Screwface is...
I saw him browsing the forum today...

After installing the latest fix, reinstalling actually, I can report again that game is still borken at St. Pierre, same run time error when you go to the port.
