I was having the crash problem something fierce. Following the advice in this forum, I jacked up the world detail and the object detail to the max, unchecked everything else in the graphics options, and now it runs like a dream. And me on a crappy Dell pc with built in graphics cards and such. Thought I do try to keep my drivers up to date, by the Powers!
My one problem is my avatar in the game--in most screens, he comes out all silver and undetailed with bits missing--he looks like a ragged silver ghost. Not everywhere--he's fine in sword fights and sneaks--but going to the pub, dancing, seeing a governor, dividing plunder--ghost time. Hopefully, this will be addressed in the patch, but I was wondering if anyone else was having the same problem.
Good thing its such a great game, though. I've been waiting for a pirate game like this, and I'm glad to have it. Scupper me wi' a handspike else! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
