Nathan, please, could you regularly attend the Ellaybe? We played the POTC here and I need your regular consultation. Ellaybe is my home server and I would like to stay here. It´s important for me and I hope for other members too. I am used to on our website.

Seriously, in the past I tried to be present on all the forums AND do mods at the same time, and it wore me down to the point that I almost quit everything for good.

Well, Ithink Rad's request to be reasonable.

If you go around broadcasting your work in other sites, could at least provide the courtesy of offering support in their homes aswell, and not trying to make them come here. Its a question of sensibility that your Humble Highess can understand well. On the other hand, maybe someone from the other Moders of Build 12 can also fill in that role. Skull maybe?

As truth be told Nathan is working hard on with PMT on the expansion now, and I doubt that he will have much time for the forums, like all the rest of us.

Since de current Build be assembled by folks dat tend tew hang out 'round here, it be kinda natural fer dis site tew also be whar tew go look fer support info also. Kinda like when Fred Bob be wantin' tew know about Sea Dawgs moddin', he don't expect folks tew come o'er here an' spoon feed him, he gits off'n his arse an' browses de Ellaybe site. Build 12 was made by many talented modders from many different PotC modding communities, and only COMPILED and hosted here. Our project started as an attempt to get some of the loose ends and the most popular stray mods from all around collected into one easy to use download for everyone. We tried to get as much in as we could, with permission granted from each modder involved. If we could not get permission, or could not FIND the modder, we did not include that mod in this Build.

To find help on a particular Build 12 mod, you should ask the person who made the mod (see the Build 12 ReadMe or ask if you are confused). It's the modder's personal choice as to where they might "hang out" OR if they want to answer questions - or if they want to just simply remain silent and mod without communication with anyone. It's a personal choice, and NO ONE should presume to answer for anyone else on what they should or should not do.

Regarding communication, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to travel to wherever the particular modder is, in order to ask questions about their particular mod... There are ALSO many other options available to us all. Private Messages and email also work. You don't HAVE to hang out at a particular modding community to get the answers you need. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
Well, Fred Bob you have a point there also, and this is certaintly one of those difficult things with Modding.

Rad is a player, he is not a modder per say althought he has helped Hose with the SD addon Installer much.

But I do understand first hand the dilema, from one hand we want to share our work with everyone and from the other we want to limit having to jump around 100 forums answering questions.

hrm hrm...

In any case, I will try to convey the message to Rad if you please, explain a bit this dilema to him.

Sweetie, I am not talking for Nathan, NK will do what he pleases.

Fact is that I understand the point Fred Bob brought up, and I understand it well because I been there in the past 3 years moding in this Community.

I will inform Rad of the situation, not about NK, as I said it is up to NK to decide.

One of the things that wears me down on forums is that often remarks you made in all innocence cause someone else to flare up about things you never thought of. Especially if you try to make 18th century style jokes cause you learned your English from oldfashioned novels <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
(Oh, before anyone feels offended by THAT, I am talking of myself only. There are of course people whose mind is so poisoned with grudge that they imagine bad intentions in everything you say or do. Well, those can only be ignored.)

Rad, I apologize in all form if my post sounded like a jokeattempt at your expense. It was not my intention to ridicule or ward off your request.
What I wanted to express is
1. Many people just do not have the time or the stamina for the amount of forum activity that you can manage, so please do not expect too much from people. (just in general, I have no one particular in mind... except me)

2. As Fred Bob has already said (better than I) It would IMHO be easier for posters and readers alike if all information concerning one topic would be collected at one point. That would spare us doubleposting and topic hopping, and it would make it much easier to find information and follow discussions.

That does not mean that I want to favour or promote any particular community. If I for example need or have some information about Seadogs1 I go to the LIB forum, and I see no need to ask you and Hosehead to doublepost all your posts about 1.12 here.


Nathan, sorry if I sounded like usurping the role of your spokesman, or like trying to "claim" you for any particular forum. Why should I? How could I?


Finally, thank you, DS, that you wasted your precious time only to convey messages for the common modfolk.
You are always so willing to help poor modders, and always trying to mend relations , defuse conflicts and prevent allegations from spreading <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_praise.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="icon_praise.gif" />

The simple answer is, yes, I plan to be around Ellaybe as well, and have since you first raised that question the other day (which I'm sorry I didn't have a chance to answer in the affirmative before thanksgiving, it would have avoided a good bit of this).
