After playing a good deal PotC, I got inspired to do some modding work myself.
I would like to start out making a random house in a larger town achievable for the player, by making him buy it from a citizen (like it would be like in the real world) I think I can learn a lot from watching the work going on around Henry Morgan´s house in Redmond.
It may sound a little too ambitious, but in the end I would like this to be part of a rather small quest, where the player has the opportunity to discover new land in the archipelago. His mission in this matter would be to build a new colony on this land. Of course there are several approaches to this, and I would never make the player actually build a whole town by himself. Just let him come back once in a while to watch the progress, as the sub-quests/missions would be to remove the obstacles and problems rising from starting a new colony. Especially in matters of getting materials, transportation, protection etc. This might sound boring to some, but sounds great to me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Would any of these things be possible to do? I do believe we have the knowlegde to make new land from all the new islands in the Build, including structures, buildings, peers etc. Wasnt it CouchCaptainCharles who made the new islands in the Build?
Quest-wise, I think it should be possible to make the player discover new land, once certain events are triggered (the Battle Rocks are only visible if you have the right compass, right?)
But again, for a start I would like to learn about locators in order to customize a house to the player´s needs. I might only get this far, which also would be fine by me. Is any online-documentation available about locators and what program would I need for changing them. Inez Diaz´ Tool?
