My very, very small contribution! ( And two questions!)

Woo! After a years-long break ( back when Pieter was still getting ready to get on his first boat!), I finally re-installed PoTC!

I made this little file years ago, I hated the default skull you get when you loot a body, so I took it upon myself to change it!
I posted this file those years ago, so you may have seen it, but I'm posting it again, since there's still a possiblilty of people using the crappy default skull!

Here is a link to it, it won't let me upload this type of file, apparently:

It will change the cartoony skull (is it from DOOM? I dunno <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />) when you loot a body to this:

Just replace the old file of the same name (make sure you back it up first!) with this one.
It should be in <b>C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Pirates of the Caribbean\RESOURCE\Textures\INTERFACES\PORTRAITS\128</b>.

I installed the game, installed build 13, then replaced the file. It's been working without a hitch. I've looted enough bodies to test it out, believe me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" /> !

It's a tiny, tiny, change, but it always angered me to see such an out-of-place skull on the loot screen. I figured I'd share, since I'm probably not the only one who's noticed it!

And then, for my questions:

I recently captured a Lineship from the Spanish. I'm loving it, except for the fact that theres no crew in it! I can't sit back and watch my crew like I used to on my sloop <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> . Is this a glitch, or does the lineship not support crew on the deck? I just wanna know if it's a glitch or not, no bring some closure to the loss of my crew!

And, I can't download Direct Sail from the PA website's download page. Or any of the build 14 alphas from Pieter's website! Is this a problem on my end, or are the downloads down at this time? I want DirectSail, but I can't get it anywhere. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

i just recently downloaded the Build 14 Alpha 6, so i cant help here.....maybe if you leave your ship and then return the crew will show up on deck, who knows? ^^

Thanks a lot. I don't remember seeing that file before and if I did see it before, I must've forgotten adding it to the modpack. Thanks for giing me this chance of rectifying that. As for the crew: I take it you refer to the crew you see in 3D sailing mode? Some of our ships come from AoP and those use crew walk files that are incompatible with PotC. Therefore those ships don't have crew in our game. Some of those have since been given some crew, but most are still crew-less. In the latest Build 14 Alpha's there's also some more ships from different sources and those also lack crew for the most part. This can rectified. <i>If</i> somebody makes some new walk files for those ships. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

As for the DirectSail mod, the download link in <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=11369" target="_blank">this thread</a> still works fine. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />
