Need Help With Pirate! Game Won't start!

I am having a real Problem with my Copy of Sid Mieres Pirates! The game starts and you can see the entering cinematics but just before it enters the main menu it shows you the pirates logo and sits there if the wheel spinning doing nothing, I don't know what to do.. My computer Surpassers the Mininmum requirements it just won't start. If someone can help me please tell me whats wrong.. I have reinstalled it like 4 times, its still messes up and chooses not to load.. my computer is runniung with direct X 9.0c it just won't load!

Heya

Im new here as i was searching for a forum that could help me with the same promblem Sam is having.

The thing is though i played it for about an hour the frist time, but at one point i alt tabbed out for a second. It then started running really slow so i restarted my comp. Now it just gets stuck at the loading screen at the start.

I had this happen to me last night when I went to play the game. I could not open a loaded game and if I started a new game it would do as Sam Rekem said. Here is what I did:

I copied my saved games to another folder and uninstalled the game and completely removed the folder and saved games in it (remember I had the saved games backed up somewhere else). I then reinstalled the game and copied the saved games back into the save folder and everything was fine. Hope this works for you guys.

Sorry guys i think it was just a problem with my comp, if i left it for like 15mins it loaded, then at any loading screen it took ages.

Earlier today i started palying it again and its working perfect now so dont worry.

I wish this msn virus would stopstuffing up my comp lol
