Padre Dominguez Has gone senile!

At the end of the "strange things" quest after I've killed the robed guys and try to speak to father Dominguez, to free him from the cell, he asks if I want to make a donation to the church. When I say that I have business to discuss, the only option after that is "on second thought, lets talk about something else" (or something like that). In short, something seems screwed up or I've missed something.
Its like talking to my grandfather who had alzheimers before he passed away. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> Next thing I know he'll be calling me Johnny and wander off.

Oh no. I thought that bug was fixed aaaaages ago. I know CatalinaThePirate made a fix for that. It seemed strange to me too since I passed that quest a few times without incident on previous versions.

Pieter, perhaps with all the dialogue changes made by Maximus et. al. this version is just too messed up to provide a good/usable base.

Perhaps going back to a more stable version of the Post B12, where all the quests worked, would make a better base for a Build 13.

Newcomers could enjoy POTC with that version, which would still be a great improvement over Build12
Any modders still around and willing to put in the work to get their mods right, could work on a Build14
 
I absolutely agree with Petros there, Pieter <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> I have also been crying out loud a lot lately cause things that I had made a long time ago were suddenly not working anymore. And I fear we notice only the really obvious malfunctions, many subtle dialogbugs may never be found.

That's not meant to be a criticism of anyone's work or dedication. Even the best programmer can't help making typos and errors if he changes such a lot of files. We simply do not have the manpower to perform and debug such massive changes <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
I will try to make a Pre Build 13 version including only those mods I know to work. Then we can bugfix that, include some more mods, bugfix those, etc. It'll take a lot of time to do this though. Especially with the manpower we have. I don't know if this helps, but I went back to the church and found that Padre Dominguez is there too. But he is not responsive. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I think you have not heard what I said.

We had a version where all mods and most importantly "ALL QUESTS" already worked.
Things were working so well that we had folks working on walkthroughs to explain the quests to newcomers.

Everything worked well and the build was massive with all the new ships, characters and even locations.
New Islands and Expanded Oxbay could be added on (I did) and they worked fine as well.

Go back to that version and make it a Build 13!
All newcomers can then start to play with that, rather than a one year+old Build 12.

All those new characters so many of us worked on, all the new ships,new guns, the blacksmiths, the tattoo parlor, Stormy Start, new islands and extended Oxbay all worked and are being wasted.

Every time we have to point a new comer to the Build 12, we do this community a disservice.

I promise I'll quit all my modwork and do nothing but bugsquashing IF there is a realistic chance of getting a neat pack wrapped up and finished. IMHO we were almost there around Christmas. How about simply uploading one of that modpacks as Build13 alpha?
 
I still have the 21 November release here. Do you want me to upload that one? If I do, please test it and tell me what bugs there are. I also have the 24 October and 2 October versions still. And some update files in between.
