Playing Build 12 Please Help....

Hi

I am busy playing Build 12.

I have two questions

1) Why do I always encounter Pirates fleets? In fact most encounters at see are fleets and very few single ships. Should this be so or have I just been unlucky? I am having rather a tough time aquiring a bigger ship.

2) No merhants wants to trade with me, theu threaten to call the town gaurd or something. I don't know what I did, more importantly how do I get them to trade with me again.

Please advise.

2) What is your reputation? #1.) If you wish to encounter other fleets with larger ships, you should talk to one of your `tavern-hired` officers and tell him, "I don't feel right in this world". You will then be given the chance to up the difficulty level if you wish, but the one for ship encounters is "notify me of all ship sightings" - you want your men to notify you of ALL ships they sight, not just the ones that are your size or smaller... That should give you more large targets! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

#2.) Your reputation will affect how people deal with you - if you are, as Dway suggests, a "Horror of the High Seas" you will have a lot of trouble dealing with reputable merchants. In order to get your reputation back up you can do many things such as donate scads of money to the church, but the easiest and most profitable way is to go out back into the jungle of any town - like Oxbay, for instance - and find the "rape gangs" who are going to ravage a maiden unless you intervene. Help her and she will reward you with either a rep increase, or some money. And when you kill the rapers, you'll get their money and swords too...

When you find this location, just keep going in and out of this area (loading portal) to `re-generate` the degenerates, Ooooh, pun, sorry! (haha)... Anyhow, that should give you enough encounters to get your rep back up to a respectable level. I think Rascal should be enough, tho Neutral or Bloke is better, Dashing is very nice, and HERO is impressive! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation.

I was wondering howver if there is a way to only encounter fleets of ships occationally and one on one encounters more frequently?

If that makes sense.

I do prefer only encountering one ship at a time and fleets on the rare occation.

Any ideas?
