Probably "Blacksmith Trouble"

Hi all,

I’ve been facing probably the same problem as Cat describes at her post “Blacksmith Troubles”.

I had a clean installation of the original PotC, I installed Build12 and then I installed the Alan’s Blacksmithmod and New Weapons mod.

I finished all `side-quests` (never visited Camilo Machado's house) without any problem and I started the original quest. At the Roul Reim’s quest I’m not being able to load Camilo Machado's house. When the dialog with the smuggler finishes the games try to load Camilo Machado's house and the only thing I get is a black screen. I tried to visit Camilo Machado's house directly same thing happened.

I followed the link in Cat's post and I tried out the solution proposed by emrep (create a folder resourcemodelslocationsOutside Jungle_9 and copy all files from folder resourcemodelslocationsOutside Jungle_5 into. I didn't quite understood where to put the sword1.gm file, so I copied it in the above new folder with no luck.

Any suggestions ???

P.S. I could post the debug tool's report if that will be of any help but this is going to happen 6 - 7 hours because I'm at work right now.

That jungle folder thingy was for an other error.

The model of Camilo Machados house is in RESOURCEMODELSLocationsInsidemediumhouse2.
Their in you have to put the sword1.gm etc.
I think thats the best way to manage that if you dont want to start a new game, because if i remember correctly the locations were created from code at the beginning. My suggestion to keep your game going is to find

resourcemodelslocationsinsideBlacksmith2

and copy the files:
Sword1.gm, Sword2.gm, Sword3.gm and Sword4.gm

to resourcemodelslocationsinsideMediumhouse2
 
You could do that, but better to open the conceicao.c location init file, find that house, and delete all the references I accidentally left in to the sword, gun and cannon models. They are to the effect of, 'model.always.l1="sword1" ', something like that. This will be fixed in the next release... and sorry for all the trouble. But at least it gets me an idea of how popular the mod is, busted as it may be...

Thanks to alan_smithee as well. I will try your solution tomorrow in order to have a more "clean" installation. Your mod should be very popular indeed.
