Problem with sid

[Captain Burly McKoy]

Whenever I play Sid Meier's Pirates, my guy, and other characters, will appear silver. Like I'm always silver when dancing, English and Spanish goveners appear silver, monk are silver, I'm silver in the taverns, and when I talk to goveners. Anyone know what to do?

Is there even support at Firaxis or Atari? I couldn't find it anywhere.

My guess is something to do with either the video card or the video settings, could be quicktime also. Sorry McKoy, would need alot more info to even start to troubleshoot.

Prolly because Atari no longer has anything to do with Pirates! The whole game, not just the XBox version is now in Take2Games' lineup.

I don't own the game, was just looking for Captain McKoy.

Ok, I have to admit I've thought about owning it as I was a fan of the C64 game. But one thing I've learned from my POTC experience is to wait for patches and make sure support is available. I know there's a patch, but the above 'support' link does not cut it in my opinion and I'll most likely be waiting for a bargain bin. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Firaxis is supposed te be werkn on a new patch fer it accord'n te Cyberorp. funny Firaxis hasn't said anything about SMP,Barry from Firaxis used te pop in here as well from time te time,kinda is a shame the game has potential. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Had a problem like this on a laptop, I was considering buying. I took this
sucker home and loaded up PIRATES; several of the figures were washed out, as you
described. I took it back to Staples and upgraded to a pricer laptop.
I suspect that the card in your machine isnt defective, but doesnt have enough "bells and whistles". Would to hear from one of the more knowledgeable people on this.
