Problem with uncle's map

Nightwing

Ok, so this is where my uncle is supposed to be at:

<img src="http://www.geocities.com/mister_susi/pirates.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

The exact spot seems to be the one in the picture. All landmarks around it are correct and there's this hut. But there's something blocking the entrance to it even though I have found all pieces to that map. Does anyone know why can't I access that hut?

Nope, dat be what de calls an "deserted cabin", matey! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> Yer lookin' fer a cabin wid no chimney dat be brown, not `grey-lookin`'! It might be very near by, so keep a lookin'! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

That is a deserted Cabin - not the hut for lost family member.

The hut for lost family member is a lot smaller, lower, and is brown with a greenish grey roof.

(Nice username, BTW)

Aye it look more like an outhouse te me <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Oh, thanks everyone. I already forgot how did that hut look like when I rescued my sister. So I guess I need to keep looking. I'm just quite confused about navigating on land as the compass seems to have east and west the other way around than I'm used to. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/diomed.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dio" border="0" alt="diomed.gif" />

Bear in mind the compass always points north - the point is not the direction you are going.

If you are unused to navigating with a compass (and it is a neglected skill these days) then I suggest making yourself a card compass - just a circle with the cardinal (and maybe secondary points) marked on it. You can then line the north line up with the north arrow and wherever is pointing "up" is the direction you are going.
