Can anyone see what's wrong here? 
This has happened occasionally before. I think it's because I was looking at the enemy ship's status through the spyglass when he boarded me. At first the spyglass circle wasn't there, though the normal icons showing my officers' status and mine were missing; pressing F9 brought them back, briefly, then the view switched to spyglass mode. I don't think I always pressed F9 every time this happened. It does mean I need to be more careful because I can't tell if I'm about to die, but as you see, I managed to survive all the way to the final showdown in the captain's cabin. It also makes looting corpses and chests harder as you can't see the action icons indicating when you are in position to do so.
