this looks like quite a decent game; has anyone else seen it anywhere? I.e, playabvle demos and the like.

Voyage Century Online - 100% free to play - Its supported by purchaseable items that you buy for your char - But no cost at all to have an account or play - a lot of us were in the Alpha and beta of the game. Fun, but the GM support really lacked. I finally got disgusted and quit playing when my guild, one of the oldest and largest on Columbus server got destroyed due to a bug that removed me as the guild leader, and then we could never get a it fixed. We went rounds with them for almost three months when I finally threw up my hands and quit the game in total disgust.

Gameplay wise, as long as you aren't looking for a 100% historically accurate game, its awesome.
