Was working for 2 weeks and now won't even load

I played this game for 2 weeks steady with no major issues. All of a sudden I can't get the game to load when I hit the "play" icon.

I was thinking I accidently quarantined a file that was vital. I've been running my anti spyware stuff quite a bit and I had gotten rid of a couple "recommended files to delete". You don't always know what these are.

Well, I uninstalled the game and `re-installed` to see if this was the issue. I know this is not recommended all the time, but I had little choice.

I run a G Force Ti4200, 64MB system

Any thoughts. I'm totally bummed. I've been waiting for a long time for this game to come back.

Never change a running system and allways be careful with deletes. Computers are like childs. Don´t harm them or you´ll never get lucky anymore. Do you know what you´ve deleted / changed the passing two weeks?

Some of these programms are better than good (adaware, spybot, ...) and also delete sensible data which is not containing any virusses, malware, adware, etc... And that could screw up your computer.

I appreciate the comments. I have been in an ongoing battle with spyware, adaware, and other various invasive programs. It is slowing down my computer a great deal and giving me headaches. I have it under control now.

There is no logical reason for the game not to work all of a sudden. I'm going to go back into the files that I deleted and see if anything looks like it could affect this. I have tried a half dozen other games with no problem. My only problem is with Pirates right now. (of course my favorite game right now)

Any ideas from the moderators?

Have you tried defragmenting the hard drive? Ending all other memory hoarding programmes from the background?
