Hearts of Oak News 2nd September 2014

FACEPALM. I wasn't involved in this project as a developer and I became an UE4 community member just after the initial release of Unreal Engine ver. 4. So please don't compare UDK and UE 4 communities they are just completely different. But ok, if you think I'm trolling, I'll wrap up our discussion.

Hearts of Oak News 2nd September 2014

Let me correct you. You were using UDK which comes without sources just like CryEngine does. And nowadays situation has changed because Epic released UE4 with all sources. And if you don't understand, with an access to engine's source code you can modify/create anything you want (except for some...

Hearts of Oak News 2nd September 2014

Ho-ho, that's funny. Guys do you remember a discussion we had in March? Or my post from October 2013 (http://www.piratesahoy.net/threads/hearts-of-oak-news-update.21140/#post-464172)? "The Short of It" and "Now What?"

Sometimes it's easier to write engine from scratch then updating an old one (especially if you have code parts from the previous one which you can use in new engine, script language and parsers for instance). Many things depend on engine architecture.

"The Short of It" and "Now What?"

Well, and the rest of programmers (me for instance) who want to get their hands on Storm engine 2.8 source code should wait till Akella release those sources to public. Unfortunatelly we don't know when it will happen. Prooflink (with google translate)...

    We Have the Storm Engine!

2Pieter Boelen I'm not Mr. Zaitsev but I would like to ask you what compliler did you use? Because if it was made in Visual studio 2003 or earlier then I doubt that you'll manage to compile it in 2005/2008/2010 studio without a lot of tweaks. For example: for (i=0;i<num_pass;i++) won't compile...
