    If you mean editing the ones you have provided, then yes but only cannons_init.c (cost, range, etc.). I've also tried running game without making any changes and there was no difference - crash on start.

    Nope, no mods at all - clean vanilla game. You've probably lacked of firepower or weren't too patient. Take a note that first screen has been taken at 1:28 game time (the dutchman has already suffered critical sails and crew damage which took some time) and second is 4:40 (4:36 logbook update)...
