I made that map up when in the PMT, and despite repeated inquiries no one seemed to be interested in me putting up a set of printable maps. So this (IMHO) really neat map just languished by the wayside, until I thought to use it as a new PA wallpaper.

Someone finally expressed an interest in having a printable map, so ya go - these maps are at my ftp - and here is how you determine which map you want -

There are two version, an "X" version and a "G" version. These ratings are simply borrowed from US movie ratings... The original map has some women with their breasts exposed - hardly a salacious illustration, but nonetheless I thought it might be a good idea to offer a "edited" version of the map for those of you who have young'uns around who you do not want looking at naked breasts...

Anyhoo, here's how it goes.

ftp.ganotherapyusa.com is the address - just highlight, copy, and paste this link as it will not take you "there" otherwise.

The maps are in the "pub" directory, and are in separate folders to distinguish them from each other.

The "G" (or safe for kids) type is in one folder and the "X" type (better for pyrates) <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> is in another. There are various sizes to choose from.

Here's an example of the map:

<img src="http://www.ganotherapyusa.com/extras/jsj_cat_sample.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Note that these are printable maps, not desktop wallpaper. You can find desktop wallpaper in the Burning Brig forum.

Hope you enjoy! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

<span style='`font-size`:25pt;`line-height`:100%'><b>EDIT UPDATE: </b></span> In collaboration with <span style='color:red'>Jack_Sparrow_Jr,</span> I have updated this map to reflect the corrections he made to the original PotC map island positions as they correspond to the game. I think the new map looks good and will make for easier navigation! Thank you, JSJ, for helping to make this project GREAT! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

<!--QuoteBegin-jack_sparrow_jr+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(jack_sparrow_jr)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->well .... your not the onliest one to make maps<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->I know that, JSJ... I had mine done and the build had just come out when you started up with yours - I didn't release this one because you had worked so hard on yours and I didn't want to take anything away from your endeavor... So I figured I'd wait...

This map does match the ones on the textures that are included with Build 11.0 - the maps that are on the walls in the shipyards and townhalls. And I offer it just for anyone who cares.

yes .... And I just LOVE you work .......
it makes the maps in there so much better <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

btw ..... I forgot to make that I promised you <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
I'll do it later, when I done some ship texturing <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

i love your map, catalina. i've had it on my pc for ages - the largest version (with the boobs, not without <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" /> ). i especially love the compass with the cardinal directions in latin (what? latin rocks! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> ... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />: ). i have a thing for old maps, i have to admit. i have four in my student house (all huge, and framed... when i move out at the end of this year i reckon they're gonna charge me for the hyowge holes they'll have left in the wall...). and my desktop is an old ordnance survey map of home. maybe i should get a life lol <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" />

I love maps too, Kieron... So I know exactly what you mean! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

JSJ, I was wondering about that, but no worries, no rush... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

Yeah, that new map in the game is way better then the backwards Carribean one was. Way to go! I love maps also, infact Geography is very interesting <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

P.S. I think the brown and tan map would be more authentic looking in the game, but I'll definately print out the blue one, maybe I'll get it framed and hang it on the wall... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

cat : I only need some minor details now ..... I'll send it tonoght
<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cheers.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="cheers.gif" />:

<!--QuoteBegin-Admiral8Q+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Admiral8Q)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->I think the brown and tan map would be more authentic looking in the game,<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->One would think that, I know. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> But the map I made was with elements borrowed directly from a real map made by a contemporary of Mercator and Ortelius in the 1500's. I considered keeping the parchment look of the PotC map, but in the end stayed with the original look of the original 1500's map.

Here is a link to the UK National Maritime Museum - take a look at the old maps, and you will see. It is interesting to note that maps (at least these) were not printed on cheap parchment but on a very fine quality paper - probably for survivability and durability. `Hand-drawn` `one-of`-`a-kind` maps (say a pirate's treasure map) would probably be made on parchment because it was cheap and readily available. But nicely printed maps such as what might be used by a prosperous sea captain or hung on the wall in an establishment or Townhall office would be much higher in quality.

its in your incomming
<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cheers.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="cheers.gif" />:

Okay thanks, JSJ, I've got it... I'll take a look at it later. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Got to look at everything, JSJ, and decided to take your positionings and fiddle my map up a bit so they match. Changes are reflected above, and you might notice that I also changed QC - it is flopped and tilted on the overhead ocean view in the game, so I figured since you had changed the others, that QC should be changed too!

I updated it here, and on the desktop wallpaper I put up in the Burning Brig. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Thanks for helping make this a really great map! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

np .....
well ... did I forget QC ? .... have to go home and check it ....
as to the real game world map ....... qc waz mirrored from disney's map ..... (check the world map i made, like satelite photo)
that waz stolen from the game directly, and i made that a version for those who like that view .......
the islands placement is the most correct in that.
but for your map ..... i copied the placement from my older one .... that fitted in yours...
hope you can use it .... or else .... I correct my errors <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
just glad to help

I can move the islands and the illustrations anywhere, JSJ. If you have what you might consider a more accurate positioning, email it to me like you did the other one. I can alter the map all over the place (I have about 30 layers in my .psd save).

consitter it done <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
