I just installed the new postbuild update and I noticed that I can't always capture a ship if I want. I just defeated a pirate MOW with my 3 SOLs and I couldn't add it to my fleet because he became an ally. But in a previous battle today I was able to capture the ship for my own. I had to quit though because, before I relaized I was shooting him with a green cannon sight, I shot him 3 times which killed my rep. Is this a new feature in the update or a bug? If it is a new feature, is there a way to choose to capture the ship?

ALSO

There are a few of the build sounds, though amusing at first, that have gotten kind of annoying . Is there a way to turn the volume down on these without turning down the volume on all sound effects? If not, can anyone make some quieter sound files for some of them. The one that particualarly gets anoying, and is too loud compared to the rest, is <b><i>"Guards, Guards, Come quickly!!!"</i></b>. When three or four people break thier sword and are left with their fists, this rambling goes on for five or six minutes very loudly. I usually have to mute the volume. Once per fight, if possible, would be preferrable.

Thanks a bunch. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

The first thing you mention is not a recent bug. This happens when the ship surrenders. The idea is that, after the surrender, you can capture her instantly. However, this only works if there still are enemy ships near. To capture her, press the F3 button when the boarding icon appears. However, if you do this when no other enemy ships are near, you will be transferred to map sailing mode instead. So that is a bug. Unfortunately, the person who made the mod has been gone a long time and I don't think anybody here would know how to fix it.

You are quite right about the "Guards, guards, come quickly" sound. I have been wanting to get rid of that as well. It happens when enemies use their fists. But I didn't code that in. But I WILL code it OUT. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
I already asked Maximus to get rid of some of the boarding sounds in the after boarding interfaces, so at least those interfaces are now a lot quieter. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

So what happens to the last ship to surrender, you can't capture it?

Somehow, I have managed to never see this happen!

For all I know, you can't capture the last ship, no. Not sure if that actually is the case though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I have been playing the game, and I'm able to force surrender 4 ships, then board each one till the last, even as a couple of them where not near enough so I had to sail till them.

So, for me, it's not bugged now.

But it was the first ship and they didn't surrender. I borded them and was engaged in combat. On the transfer screen all of the otions except for goods, cannons, and exit were greyed out. I then exited and found they were an ally with at least 3 more ships to sink.
