A comprimise I need to make

Caporegime

Landlubber
Hi,
as you all know, I am working on the skins for my Italian Soldier Mod. However, I need to make a decision.
Should I have more detailed, but less historically accurate skins, or more historically accurate crappy looking skins? It is a decision I have been trying to make for the last month or so.
-Capo

I have made a decision (no thanks to any of you) to go with the less historically accurate one. BETA skin is done, just needs some touchup work <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/diomed.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dio" border="0" alt="diomed.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> ,

well historically accurate skins can be detailed (as far as i know basic skin from this game lacks really detail) so it cant be worse than that...

And anyways why those skins cant be historically accurate and detailed at the same time ? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

hope that help

Arg, ye need to be more pacient. Many of thee members live on opposite ends of the Earth. It takes a day or two for them to come on and answer ye questions.

Heh, Capo, you've been agonizing on this for a month, and ask us for an opinion, then in several hours you make up your mind without our help and "complain" that we weren't here to give an opinion?

Seems that we DID help - with us not being here, you made your decision anyhow! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Lol.
I suck at retexturing, but making a the innaccurate one would only require a bit of copying and pasting (taking from other skins, negitives of skins etc.) whereas actually making it accurate would require alot of retexturing that came out really bad (i did both skins to make a decision, and took the vastly better one).
Anyway, I'll upload it to my site, but it still needs a bit of work.

BTW, I wasn't complaining, it was more of a <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> remark. Sorry if i offneded people.

Nah, I was kidding you about your impatience... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

You should check out this website for some great pics of period Italian uniforms:

It's in French, but the pics are very cool!

And while you're at it, check out this for some cool mobster paintings (I posted this in Burning Brig, but you obviously haven't seen it) -
