I saw this on the first couple pages of the huge b11 bug thread, but being as I'm on dialup and tying up the phoneline I dont have time to read the entire thread and try getting it to work that way.
I have the problem where the game freezes loading oxford after getting the isla muelle ship escort quest.
I managed to get far enough to read someone said setting the ship encounters around the island to 0 would fix it, but it did nothing for me.
still happens.
I also read that getting the updated b11 patch would fix it.. However I only just downloaded b11 in the last two weeks, so am assuming I have the most recent download.. or was the main b11 for download not updated?
Oh.. and for those that remember my video problem where I couldnt play build 11 at all.. the one fixed by getting different nvidia drivers..
This whole time I've had various things that irritated me about this mod.. it didn't look as good as the original potc to me, the text was very hard to read, and whenever I got in combat I was completely blinded by all of the exp messages scrolling across the screen.. It made it very difficult to fight on ships and I typically died because of it.
Well today while trying to get around some bugs that had been bugging me (my officers always pissing off the locals during random city encounters and the guards constantly turning on me for defending myself) I noticed the configuration file in the potc directory.. curious I opened it and noticed I'd been playing in 640x480 safe mode the whole damned time!!!
ARRGHHH!!!!
After seeing that I remembered that I had tried that when I was trying to get the game to load originally and was getting no picture whatsoever.. how irritating.. heh
so, back to the animists mission.. suggestions?
