A question on adding mods

Doober

Buccaneer
Storm Modder
I am sure many of us mod the game a bit to our own personal tastes in addition to using the build. I, for instance, make my ability and skill point raise at a lower rate than what the stock game and build do. Does anyone know of a way that I can keep these settings when I install a new build update rather than having to go back and change them every time? Right know, I keep a list so that every time I update to a new version, I go back and put back my personal mods to the way I want them. Anyone have any ideas on how to make this less cumbersome? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

hmm i tend to do the same as you do. I did once keep a copy of my changed buildsettings.h file and well when i tried copying it over into a new build it broke the game(engine.exe error) - the buildsettings had changed enough in the new beta version that it just wasnt the solution i had hoped it would be.

So yeah a list on a bit of paper FTW <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

You can use WinMerge to merge the changes from the new update with your own changes, but you do need to do it manually. The program will only show you the differences. Alternatively, if you think other people might also like your changes, submit them for use in the Build so we can make them into a BS.h or IS.h toggle or scalar.
