i would really love to see the graphics and all and the ships in a video.... Because im thinking of buying the game, but im just not sure.

You can make your own video by using fraps (which you can get here), and upload it and give me a link.
 
Hmmm, there's no link in your post, Cpt.JS - but Starlancer has already made an ingame movie - it's long - but it might be just what you're looking for - check out this link:

The graphics on this game are outstanding, IMHO. I wish I had a faster connection to the internet; there's a good video called "Trailer" in the game that would show you what the game looks like - it's about 30 MB, tho... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
 
Hey Cpt. Jack Sparrow, I'm just in the process of reinstalling the game (to give Cat's FB mod a go), so I'll make an attempt at putting together some scenes for you. I don't have much web space available, so expect it to be only around 10 MB in size, and possibly no audio.
 
Ok, here's a little clip I put together (complete with insanely over the top background music!):

The resolution has been halved (i.e. it's 512x384 rather than the 1024x768 in the game), and it's been compressed using a recent XviD codec (if you need to upgrade your codecs 'cause the movie doesn't work, download it <a href="http://members.westnet.com.au/sampow/`XviD-1`.`0-RC4`-05042004.exe" target="_blank">***here***</a> - 600 kB). That means the graphics shown are nowhere near as clear and crisp as in the game, but you get a good idea anyway.

Here are also some extremely short, but full size and minimally compressed clips to give you a better look at the graphic detail:

Oh excellent, Sampow, thank you!!! I did some minor attempts this afternoon at getting some vid capture to work, still have to `fine-tune` the process, and I have NO real time to do so... In the past I've used a few other capture programs, but that Fraps one seems to be damn good. The frame rate dropped dramatically when it was running, but still it faired better than all the others I've tried.

I'm actually uploading the 13 MB capture again because I noticed that the music got cut up when I cut down the video size (I was too slack to fix it at the time, but I've changed my mind now hehe).

Zebu, the music is by the Japanese composer Yoko Kanno and it's called "Black Escaflowne".
 
Well, the name doesn't ring a bell, but I'll listen to some of her music later, seems interesting
