Hi all

Been away some time, but how is AOP comeing along in terms of realease date in US/Europe?

I read in a gaming magasine that they are planning to release it worldwide this fall (1C will publish it)
 
1C only will publish in the russia area, they wont say who the other western publisher is.. i know ive tried asking many a time <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

also i'll email to the publisher of the magasine to ask further details , unfortunaly, the only answer one question evry month wich they publish in their magasine.. so with a bit (much?) luck i'll be able to tell it by september wich would be ofcourse to late <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> (they don't work in august)
 
Do u think it will hit the UK before the end of the year?

No, i dont think you guys will get it before X-Mas, sorry.

The "which is better" argument is a hard one, i to agree that aop should be better but then im a hermit and dont like to play with others, however someone like Catalina who is a social animal will probably prefer POTBS

I'd love to play PotBS - looks fantastic... But while I am social, I'm not terribly affluent, so if I play PotBS it will have to be FREE gameplay. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />

Sorry Cat, but I really doubt that PotBS will be free. It will be like all MMORPG's. When you buy it you have one Month free and then except a 15$ rent per month to continue to play it.

I do play World of Warcraft, City of Heroes and recently started Star Wars Galaxies (not sure if I will continue after the Free Month).

Well before people start thinking I'm spending too much money on games (well actually I do) but I spend much less now.

Normally I bought 2 games a month. Wich would be 100€ per month.

Now I play WoW and CoH (I started playing online Games, because I don't play Singlepayer Games that long anymore (they all get quite boring very fast (besides 50€ for 6 hours fun (thats how long most games last nowadays) is too expensive)).

And now my Monthly Bill on Games is below 30€ (if I continue SWG it will be 45€). Still better then before.

Only Pirate Games can entertain me for a time (and I still buy any good Pirate Game (luckily there aren't that much out there)). Besides i create Pirate Chars in any of my MMORPG's (will send you screens soon).

If there is anything like a "getting Offtopic" Award, I surly would be a contender.

Actually I wanted to say that you really can't compare MMORPG's with Single Player Games. I most likely will try both.

But I don't expect AOP this year and I have a feeling that PotBS will be 2007.
 
Ahoy Donkey Pirate matey,Don't think ye will see AOP this year as well,good te see yer mug in these here waters again,not all MMORPG's have a fee,Iv'e been playn Guild Wars and is totaly free on line play'n althogh I've still play'n solo an Hire'n henchmen instead,this game gives ye the option,ye should check out Guild Wars thread in alternative games,this one is a winner <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Yeah, know of Guild Wars. Its too much concentrating on PvP for my liking. I preffer the MMO's concentrating on RPG and ingame content (and these types normaly charge you with fees). Other then that seems to be a nice game.

For PotBS I think they will go the traditional way with the fees, as it seem also a game concentrating on RPG and ingame content.

Now with a UK publisher we should be ok for a UK publisher, bit i mailed them with a question again, when is the ETA for UK.
