AOP Wishes

Johntiler

Landlubber
Hi, I'm new, from New Zealand!

I noticed that Sea Dogs just came out about 1 week ago in NZ... :frown:
yea its pretty slow... I've played Sea Dogs a couple of times and love the mods...

anyway getting to the point, AOP is gonna rock because I hope it doesnt have that crappy XBox inspired interface that PotC had...

btw I'm not a PotC player because my computer sux... (K6-2 500) so i sorta slipped outta the gaming arena. but like from what I read, there seem to be a lot of cool mods for it, esp that Build12.

Anyway, lets hope that the AoP Interface is waaaay awesome!!!

Hehe, wouldnt it be cool if there was a multiplayer mode which was like Capture the Flag/ Fort

it would b soo cool if they also allowed boarding!!

Well your in luck matey as there is a multiplayer mode not sure if there is a capture the flag but i would have writted it down in the <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net/index.php?showtopic=5136" target="_blank"><span style='color:blue'><b>FAQ</b></span></a> if there is.

welcome aboard also <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> Johntiler, and welcome aboard! Have an ale! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/beer2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":beer" border="0" alt="beer2.gif" />

We're hoping that AOP will be easily mod-able, so we can tweak things, too. Should be a great game, and we're all really looking forward to it. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Ahoy and welcome, Johntiler! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

Here's a bit about it:
<!--QuoteBegin-RPG Vault+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(RPG Vault)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin--><b>Renat Nezametdinov:</b> Age of Pirates multiplayer features four different game modes. These are Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Defend the Convoy and Capture the Fort.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->...and the whole story is found <a href="http://rpgvault.ign.com/articles/627/627926p2.html" target="_blank">here</a>! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

A bit vague, but still, Capture the Fort is, I suppose, equal to Capture the Flag... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it.
I played PotC a while ago and the game was good.
Except the difficult controls and a lot of bugs.
But I played it a while because the gameplay was so good (but also kinda difficult for a noob like me <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />).
I hope that this is (much) better (bether ?) than PotC.
And hopely it brings also much news.

I remember when I first heard of AOP, one of the biggest selling points (IMO) was the fact you could sail from one island to the other in the sailing mode without using the world map. Does anyone know if this is correct?

My wishlist:
-As posted beneath, I´d like to have a more friendly interface to manage inventories, trade, plunder and so on. This game is for PC so now there´s no excuse for having a console-like interface.
-This can also be applied to in-game controls of the character, ship and so on specially for combat. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />
-Give me something to spend the money in. In POTC there was a moment in which gold could be earned in big numbers and there was no way to buy a piece of territory or something like that. Seems like the new features to improve a colony can fix this.
-Give my officers a beter IA and make sure they do not do stupid things like giving his back to an attacking enemy. If I can chose his habilities, I also hope that they actually use them (if a guy is a "master in fencing" I expect him to kick serious ass) and even more important, if they´re on board (like fast repair, quick turning...).

Reaves, nah i cannot remember them saying that. It has been asked i thik its in one of the Q&A's we did they they said you could NOT do that...sorry <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

sorry reaven , it has already 100 times been explained that you can't do that . It's either the worldmap , or sailing from island to island . and the best choise of these 2 is the worldmap , beacouse , beleive me , that sailing from island to island will bore very quick . let's see it this way , try to play POTC wibouth ever using the "quick going to" button , and you'll see the adanvtage of it ... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

yep.. these 2 words sais everything

I miss the total freedom in aop and potc like as in gta san andreas.. now that's what I call gameplay.

a good inplanting would be "diving". diving to an old shipwreck to see if there's a treasure.. and no, I don't mean scuba diving..but just the old fashion way

a must-have-inplanting is changing envoriement. that's just a require.. really stupid that it can't be done nowadays

I saw a screenshot where a ship was flying a "strange" flag; red-white-green... I suppose it was meant to be a Dutch flag wich is of course red-white-blue.

Another thing; for as I know the Dutch flag in those days was orange-white-blue. After the occupation by Napoleon (which happened much later) the flag was turned into red-white-blue.

Just some info...

it's most likely italian, that's their flag, but if i remember correctly a certain country did have a flag like that at one time, but for the life of me i cant remember which one![i've had too much rum and cola to remember enything!] <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

EDIT: im sure its italian, the flag i saw was on a shoe box [valantino coupeau], and it is an italian make [i think] with a strip that looks like the french flag.

The upper stripe of the flags of the VOC and GWC was at first orange, and changed like in the Dutch flag to red between 1630 and 1660. Our game starts in 1640, so we used the red-white-blue version. I don't think we ever had Italian flags in the game <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
