I got a similar question.. If I am, from the begining, "PIRATE" nation, shouldn't I be atleast "Neutral" against Pirates? And, even when I officially become a pirate(talking to the Boss in QC), it says that I am Neutral with Pirates but when I check again, I'm like -60 Hostile.. Can we do like, if you choose a certain nation, you won't be hostile to them... (and I HAD the line in Build Setting like that: <!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->#define RANDOM_RELATIONS 1

// 0: Original stock game relations<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->well i have to go to the pirate island now and give a letter to the pirate lord and well see if he lets me talk to him or just attacks me...if he just attacks me is there some way to bring my relations up with the pirates? mabey sink some other nations ships or something?

guess that means ill have to start over....get the main quest out of the way first....then do what i was doing before.
ill keep one spot open on this game saved just incase we find a solution to the problem but when i start over....ill lose all the hard work i did
Just to make sure: you DID try to change flags as soon as you entered the pirate ports, right? Quick Fix: When you go into the Pirate Chiefs house, use the A or D key to sidestep through the walls, watch the Chief untill he puts his sword away, VERY QUICKLY go back into the room (behind the chief or near him might help) and quickly talk to him to initiate the dialogue.
Tried and tested, guranteed to work, but you might need to try it more than once.
