Best Trade Ship

Can someone please tell me what the best ship for doing trading is... Something with a balance of speed, Manuverability, Weapons and Cargo space would be ideal, though I could settle for just a ship with a really big cargo hold.

manowar got 0 speed lol but its got a huge cargo hold.

the duchman got ok speed and a really good sized cargo hold. my dutchman got 15 base speed and near 6k cargo hold plus good armor.

the dog of war i think its got near 5k cargo hold great armor, 20 speed, and guns to lay a beat down.

other than those uber ships probably flutes and galleons were your typical cargo ships of the day.

It might be a while till I get an Uber Ship but thanks <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" /> I guess I'll try looking for a new Galleon (I have a small flute atm) Though I really should try and improve my navigation skill more... Any ideas on how to do that quickly (Without getting an officer as it seems I can never find a good navigator)

No one ship can make a decent trade run, what you need is a whole squadron. My usual modus operandi is to go out, capture a bunch of ships, sail them to the nearest port, sell everything in them, strip them of their armament and sell that too, do a trade run to another city, and sell the ships. Rinse and repeat until fabulously rich.

I'll have to try that tactic out, i just need to get a good crew thats ballanced in all area's and i need a good gunner.

For good trading, you need a squadron.
I would suggest 2 war ships (Corvette or Frigate due to the speed, but I heard the manowar scares away most enemies) and 3 trading ships. The Fluyt and the galleon have a big cargo hold and they have a low class (4 I guess) which means smaller wages than higher classed ships.
