The video settings adjustments only work it you play the game in "Full Screen" mode.

The only problem with this is that if Windows interrupts the game, you might not be able to alt-tab back into it.

In the engine.ini file set
full_screen = 1
to get full screen.

maybe you can change the brightness in 'configure pirates of the caribbean' that you can find in your start menu. or just in case you haden't thought of it yet: try adjusting the brightness of your computer screen.

You can't. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" />

You can. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
But it'll be annoying to do this every time you want to play the game and reset it again after quitting it for Windows to look normal.
