Heres the thing. I just installed every Build mod on my laptop today, all the way to Build 14, alpha 6.
I've made a mistake. Pieter said on his download page that you should first run the "preset.bat" before running "RunMe.bat".
But i ran the "RunME.bat" directly. BIG mistake.
I can launch the game, but when im about to start a new game, it just doesnt start. Its just loading, and doesnt start.

Anyone have an idea of what might be wrong, and how i can fix it?

The game doesn't start at all? I doubt it has anything to do with the not running of preset.bat. You can try to run preset.bat again, then run RunMe.bat again and see what happens. If that doesn't work, enable <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9234" target="_blank">error logging</a>, start the game and post the contents of the error.log that will hopefully be generated in your main game folder here.

I'll just reinstall the game and see what happens. I'll let you guys know if it works or not.

At least it about to start now. But instead i get a The program must shut down-message.
This is what is displayed: <b>An unhandled win32 exception occured in ENGINE.exe [3420]. Just-In-Time debugging this excepiton failed with the following error: No installed debugger has Just-In-Time debugging enabled. In Visual Studio, Just-In-Time debugging can be enabled from Tools/Options/Debugging/Just-In-Time. </b>

I understand what the report says but the thing is, i dont have any "Visual Studio" program. Its just a bunch of empty directories, so i cant access the Just-In-Time debugging.

Nope. Maybe i wasnt very clear about what i said :p
Earlier it didnt even load the game, but now it dit, but just as it's about to start it crashes.
 
oh, right. i was a bit off target because of the log. anyway, i have NO idea. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> but i'm not that much of a coder anyway.
 
Okay, now i found out that my computer is using Visual studio as a debugger as default. Anyway i reset "DrWatson" as my debugger by typing "drtwsn32 -I" from Start -> Run.

Though it doenst work anyway. Anyone know how to make POC an exception as not being scanned by any program? Im getting really tired of this <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Oh no! Not the "debugger" thing again! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
I've heard of this causing trouble before, but nobody ever came up with a proper solution. I don't even know what the *** it is all about. I know Nero was sometimes seen by PotC as debugger and would therefore cause trouble.
 
Installed it on my stationary computer instead. Thanks for looking in to it guys.
