Changes ...

Landlubber
Hi,

I really like playing PotC, but there are few thinks that little ruin my pleasure:

1) Dont you know whether theres a mod to change the way man can travel between the islands. Id like to ride between them in normal way (the one which is in the battles), not the simple model.

2) What about some mods where man can measure speed like in the real world - for example, one sailor should go to quaterdeck and use a rope with knots ... :)

3) More options to set the sails, not only battle and full sails.

4) A question at the end: Why are the French angry and hostile to me in the beginning of the game, may I set it somwhere to neutral?

Thank you very much and, by the way, excuse the mistakes in my english :)

The way the game is structured, there are modules that you have to cross - just like you cross different portals (the "loading" screen) when you are on land. People have tried to sail to the other islands like that, and after a while you just run out of forward motion - in other words, you will eventually not make any progress. You'll have to go to the map view to cross the portal.

Now it's been suggested that you should be able to sail to other islands and switch to map view just briefly to make the crossing, and then back to sea view to complete your voyage. I believe a journey of this nature will take you a VERY long time - test it yourself, and see - set your ship on a heading on the ocean and let it run for several hours, then see where you end up when you get back. <!--QuoteBegin-mikhail+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mikhail)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->2) What about some mods where man can measure speed like in the real world - for example, one sailor should go to quaterdeck and use a rope with knots ... :)<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> Well, that would most certainly be very nice, but we don't have an animation for someone (or an AI) to do it... It's not easy to make an animation for a 3D character, and we have few real modelers who could do it... Great suggestion, tho! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> <!--QuoteBegin-mikhail+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mikhail)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->3) More options to set the sails, not only battle and full sails.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> What would you like to see? <!--QuoteBegin-mikhail+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mikhail)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->4) A question at the end: Why are the French angry and hostile to me in the beginning of the game, may I set it somwhere to neutral?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Yes, you can go to Quebradas Costillas (the pirate island) and talk to the Diplomat there - he can, for a fee, reset your relations with the French - HOWEVER keep in mind that you will not be able to run the main quest if you do this. I suggest that you start the main quest and run it to the point where you liberate Oxbay, and then you will be at normal relations with the French once again, and have no enemies but the pirates. You don't need to continue with the main quest if you do not wish to... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> <!--QuoteBegin-mikhail+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(mikhail)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->by the way, excuse the mistakes in my english :)<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd--> You're perfectly understandable, no need to apologise!
