Changing cabins?

Just wondering how one would go about switching cabins for various ships. I've got a lovely little corvette with a cabin that does not suit. So far I've been able to figure out most of my modding issues with ease, but I really can't figure this one out.

Normally I wouldn't be too concerned, but now the problem itself vexes me. So I'd love to know what I'm overlooking.
 
Which build are you using? With build 14 alpha 8 WIP's you can easily change the cabin to replace one line of code.
 
Indeed in the latest Alpha's it's a simple matter of changing one line of code in ships_init.c. Same applies to the ship's deck. However in previous versions, it's rather more difficult. I think the code for it is probably in BOAL_Cabin.c, but I don't remember what folder that's in. I think PROGRAM\SEA_AI.
 
Using the Build 13 final. I've tinkered with BOAL_Cabin.c as well as the ships_init.c with no change. I honestly just don't really understand how the cabin business is set up. But perhaps if it's easier in the latest alpha and things are relatively stable I should just consider moving on up...?

Haha, well, I think I'll give it a shot. By the way, fantastic work guys, the build alone keeps POTC on the hard drive, as well as keeps me up entirely too late!
