They can't be completely identical to the retail version, since that requires the disk to be in the drive. A digital download obviously doesn't have that, so it either has TAGES removed completely or replaced with some other copy protection scheme.

That is REALLY GOOD NEWS! Finally a way to get the game regardless of CD availability! Still, I'd prefer to find a version on disc myself.
Might I assume that once the CD has become hard-to-find again due to age (as if it isn't hard to find already! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> ), the game will still be available for download there?
If so, that is REALLY REALLY good news, since then we'd never get the problem that we're having with PotC now.
For PotC, there's some people who do want to try our modpack, but can't get the game and must resort to... less official paths of obtaining their goal.
