Disabling annoying combat "taunts"?

I use Build 11. Is it possible to disable the _incredibly irritating_ "taunts" you hear during combat? Turning "dialogue" volume down to zero has no effect. I've taken to turning off my speakers whenever i fight... if i never hear the words "CHECK AAAND MATE!!!" ever again it'll be too soon...

I like how in the Richard Lester versions of the Three Musketeers movies, you often hear people in the midst of the swordfights saying, "Excuse me..." or, "Pardon me..." when they run into each other.
I think there's one where someone says, "He's torn our carpet..."

I have a suggestion - which may require a bit of digging - but you can change the soundbytes by listening to them one by one and simply eliminating them - or changing them to a different soundbyte (but with the original name of the original soundbyte) if they are the ones that annoy you.

I got so darned tired of hearing "French quality and service are yours" from every single merchant (even if they are NOT FRENCH) and person who wanted to sell me something that I changed it over to a different soundbyte - something quieter and less (to me) annoying. I just found a soundbyte I liked, copied it, then changed the name to the name of that "French quality" soundbyte, and that was that...

So i can simply delete the annoying sound files from the game directory without screwing anything up? I'll try that, and if it doesn't work i'll just rename the offending sounds and replace them... i happen to have a .wav file consisting of fifteen seconds of pure silence that would work well here. Thanks!

the other day, i was talking to a woman outside the smugglers' lair on conceição, and i told her her purse was sticking out and my reputation went up etc etc... and she said,

so after that i went through every single sound byte. i found the same woman, with the same accent, saying "run! there's a lunatic on the loose!" (edit: ok i've realised that most people on here don't have a clue what coronation street or eastenders are... they're british soap operas, corrie's set in manchester (where i'm from <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" /> ) and eastenders is set in london...)
