Enable fast travel

How can I enable it? I also want to enable fast travel to shores when in combat... As it was in POTC

In PotC you could not fast travel to shore while in combat either. You could fast travel to enemy ships though.
In Realistic Sailing Mode with the Build mod installed, you can fast travel only to ships that are slower than you while you're in combat.

BTW:
DirectSail is usually used to refer to a PotC Build 14 feature that allows you to sail between islands without using the worldmap.
I changed "direct sail" to "fast travel" in your post, just to prevent any possible confusion. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

That must've been a bug or a fluke then; pretty sure that's not supposed to happen.
Though I have seen similar things before that I'm certain are unintentional.
Which "PotC" are you referring to, by the way? The original game or the modded version?
It's been ages since I played the original. I don't really intend to do that ever again. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Fast travel works only to friendly and neutral ships.

I know that COAS has and I <i>think</i> the previous games also had the direct sail thing sort of half-way. Yeah, you can sail from one island to another, but you won't encounter any ships along the way and you won't be able to moor.

I don't think CoAS does either.
You really DO need the worldmap to get from island to island. Not with "PotC: New Horizons" though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />

No, you don't. I decided to try when I noticed in COAS that I could see Hispaniola on the horizon from Tortuga harbor. So I set sail southwards, cranked up the time compression, and opened a book. Some time later I arrived at... whatever the name of the pirate town on the north side of Hispaniola is. But like I said, I couldn't moor, the mooring icon didn't appear even when I bumped my ship into the wharf. So yeah, not particularly useful, but I doubt I'd use this method of transportation even if it worked.

You should go to the map. But if the location is the same is not necessary.
