engine error

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> ok before i get flamed ive read the other engine error topics and there is one that shares my problem, and the answer to him was that he needed to install all the previous build mods to get it to work, i have got build 12 installed, and i have got the build "post_b12_full" in my downloaded files, what i would really appreciate is if someone one would give me a list of the mods i need to download to be able to get buil 13 to work and mabye some links cheers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

just install the stock game and build 13. then add the small update for the build. note: there are two versions, one to install over build 13, and one to add to build 13 beta 9. you should start a new game after installing. take a look at the buildsettings in the main PotC folder to disable anything added by the mods that you don't like. you should start a new game for the changes to take effect.

so i download and install build 13 beta 9 first and then download and install build 13 over that? im confused lol sorry

No, don't install anything that says beta. On Pieters site, you will find a file I believe that says Build 13 Full. After you have installed the stock game, install that file over top. For a few additional bug fixes, you can install Update 1 which is in Pieter's signature and on his site. Do not install anything that has Build 12.1 or preBuild 13 or Build 13 beta in its name. Hope that helps! I will tell you though, that the most common problem with engine errors are graphics card problems. If everything is not configured perfectly, the engine will crash alot. Fairly new Nvidia cards are the best and it also is very helpful to install the omega drivers.

cheers m8, yh that helped alot, downloadin it now lol and ive got a nvidia geforce 5700 fx, is that ok, or will that crash?

If you have Build 12.1 + Pre Build 13 Base installed, you can install Build 13 Update 1 Full on top to get entirely up-to-date. i have a nvidia geforce 2 and it works fine for me. maybe it doesn't, but i don't know how it would be if it was better.

if you want, you can get a different music pack for your game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> i have the PotC: the black pearl pack. you will have to install it manually, but it comes with a manual. you should overwrite when asked.
