Engine.exe/Sea.dll problem here also

Hello hello!

I just installed POTC and when trying to run a new game I get an engine.exe crash that points to sea.dll. I noticed similar complaints in older topics, but the links to a different modules directory were no longer working so I couldn't try that.
Otherwise I have (yes, I know) Intel 945GM video card on a laptop.

I've also ran the game on a different machine before from the same old disks, so I'm guessing it's not the disks then <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />.

you're missing dll files. the somanieth with that problem. i don't know how it is supposed to be fixed though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Try to extract <a href="http://www.s31clan.com/pietersmods/potc_downloads/modules.zip" target="_blank">this</a> file to your main PotC directory, overwriting the current files in your MODULES folder. That has fixed it for some people in the past. If that doesn't work, the reason the game doesn't run s probably because of your GFX card. I don't think PotC works well with Intel onboard GFX cards, so that wouldn't surprise me. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Interestingly that erased the text in my main menu, but... The same problem persists when trying to run a new game.

Thanks for the help. Much appreciated!

Too bad though. I love that game. Why oh why did it have to be so buggy!? Damn those corporate interests spoiling such good stuff.

that's what the mods are for. fixing the bugs, adding new features, and creating new bugs. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> but at lot less, in the least.
