I thought that my last versions could be better.
Now I have made a version 2
The English officers now look like the ones of POTC 1
<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/EnglishCommodorev2.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/EnglishCaptainv2.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/EnglishLieutenantv2.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/EnglishMidshipmanv2.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/FrenchMarinev2.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

From 1st to last:
1. English commodore
2. English captain
3. English lieutenant
4. English midshipman
5. French Marine

I think I will reskin the british soldiers too.
When I have done that, I will release this 2nd version.

Those are great uniforms Thomas. I can't wait to see them in game.

Excellent work as usual Thomas. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

I have a two quik questions. What program do you use to reskin characters and ships? I would like to reskin the Man O War from POTC to be used in AOP. I'm not sure if I could do it, but I would definitely like to give it a shot!

Also, how do you assign a character portait to a character that doesn't have one of its own? For example, if I wanted to give one of your new British officers the character portrait of the English governer.

Thanks and keep up the good work! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

what do you want the manowar to look like? there's also a black and white one with a little really dark blue that's called a lineship, if you where after something like that.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> Thomas, those skins look awsome <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

I have some more pics, and have made more skins, they now also inlcude french officers:
<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/french.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

This is the serie of french officers:
1. french marine
2. french lieutenant
3. french captain
4. french admiral

And the serie english officers (and an english soldier)
<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/english.jpg" border="0" alt="IPB Image" />

I think I will make some spanish too, before releasing.

Dab, I use the tx converter to convert the textures, and use photoshop 6.0 to skin (you can use gimp 2 to, it is free)

I have decided to put these nemesisses on my filefront page, then I will put the spanish in a pack with dutch ones (I only have the spanish lieutenant, so that will be tomorrow) It will be on my filefront in a half an hour of now (54.8 mb!)

If it is ready, click the AOP mod link in my signature, and download AO Navy Officers (French and English)

PS you have to download my French marines mod, otherwise they have the wrong model! Then they will have the stock french soldiers with my textures!

You can download it here: <a href="http://files.filefront.com/AO_Navy_Officers_French_a0rar/;6738231;;/fileinfo.html" target="_blank">http://files.filefront.com/AO_Navy_Officer...;/fileinfo.html</a>

those last pics remind me of those fold-out figurines made out of paper. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> anyway, they DO look good. could you put them in PotC in the future?

congrats with yer nice bloody skull, by the way. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

cool huh? You certainly put them into POTC, but would they look in their place in POTC? Well it is your party, you could put them in POTC yourself, for the soldiers, just rename the models to the POTC soldier gm`s and put the textures in the texture character map. And for the others, just place them into the right maps, and put them ingame by making them your boarding officers.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I wouldn't mind using the lineship skin for now, right now my man o war is just a big gray hulk in the game. But, I would eventually like to create my own skin. I was thinking of something along the lines of the skin of the frigate from AOP. I once saw a picture of a British man o war from around 1680 that had a similar paint scheme.

I actually had the gimp at one point in time and can easily get it again, so I will look into that.

Once again, excelent job on the skins Thomas! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

There's something wrong with my French...

I tried downloading and installing "AO_Navy_Officers_French_a0.rar", but instead of the handsome soldiers shown above, what I get is this (clipped and resized from a screenshot showing both an original Frenchman and a couple of the new types). The French literally talk out of their backsides; due to the problem with the texture mapping, their faces are stretched over the left rear section of the jacket.

The English soldier as shown in one of Thomas' pictures appears correctly when I'm in an English port. I haven't seen any of the other English uniforms, possibly because I fight <i>for</i> England and so have not boarded any English ships. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

You need this: <a href="http://files.filefront.com/AOP_French_Marinesrar/;6507944;/fileinfo.html" target="_blank">http://files.filefront.com/AOP_French_Mari...;/fileinfo.html</a> AND on top of that you install the other file.

I tried that. I can now see some of the other French characters and no longer see any of AoP's original French uniforms, but there are still some of the faulty Frenchies around. This happened both when continuing my main game and when starting a new game. (In fact, after installing "French_Marines.rar" and then reinstalling "AO_Navy_Officers_French_a0.rar" was to start a new game based in Guadeloupe, which was the quickest way I could think of to see if it had worked.)

Do I need to reinstall the entire game from scratch again, then reinstall your files?
