Hey folks, what about a mod, where at least on of the flags doesn´t automatically show your Nation? Maybe its possible to give your ship a smugglerflag and those could be exchnanged into the one you like?

As far as I've seen, having your own flag in AOP is impossible <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Maybe someone on one of the other AOP forums would be able to help - although modding for the game has been basically dead from the start, other than adding new ships. AOP modding (aside from ship creation) here on PA is essentially nonexistent.

I guess you could edit the texture of the nation that you are, but everyone else of that nation would be the same... I don't think that there is a way for you to change only your flag without changing everyone elses.

Right, that would be crap! Therefor I meant using the smugglers! That would be ok, if they`re having my Flag too and those are defined as a fraktion, you see?

In PotC the player can have his own flag and this was done by adding a new nation to the game, the player's own nation. Is there something like that in AoP? I imagine there should be, considering you can capture towns for yourself. After all, those towns would need to become the property of A nation after capture.

Hi,
I'd forget about the Playlogic AOP forum.....that ones had porn advertised on it for a while, so obviously nobody uses it anymore, the moderaters don't anyway, or the ads would have been removed by now.

It's got to do with PROGRAM\NATIONS\nations_init.c and the flagall.tga referenced in RESOURCE\INI\rigging.ini.

I don't have time to give you more details, that's for sure. Have a look at those files and see what you can figure out for yourself. If you have any specific questions, feel free to post them.

Also? I'm not a navy-man, though. I'm cruiseship-man. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />

A civilian ah ha, sorry <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> , what ship? The flagall-file is a row of all flags occuring, how does the game know which is to use for which nation?

In the case of PotC, the information for which flag to use from the texture file is in RESOURCE\INI\rigging.ini.

Civilian indeed. I sailed on the MS Zuiderdam and will got there again end July. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I´d like to find out which file (and which entry) tells the game to link the character to the nationflags, must be also somewhere in: program\scripts\flag.c ; program\nations\nations.c! Good luck for your next voyage!

Link the CHARACTER to the nation flags? Probably the pchar.nation attribute.
