any comment suggestions welcome, bit of trial and error, uv unwrap would have been nice the original texture is a bit of all the same heh, so had alot of painting launching and repainting, still tinkering.

not bad. quite nice. but the gunports' holes should be smaller...and you should try and give it a few faces on the side...
 
i hate to say this, but i laughed. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" /> but i'd better not comment on things i don't do myself. i think the one made for PotC is better, although yours is less blurry.
 
it's the bloody huge black spots that made you laugh. they look like something you'd see on a toy boat. but otherwise ,it's quite good...
 
Can you link a image of the one you did for PotC? Like to see what you did. Kinda a hard ship to nail the skin for, just the original for the PotC ship mod was kinda a mess and too ambigious for my personal taste, so i thought i would take a crack at it.

For the gunports the guy had black blurs on the side i just made a quick face and matched em over the spots he had on, so lest they were centered messing with sizes will take some time.

Thanks for the input, any other thoughts appreciated, be very thankful if i can see an image of your ship. and feel free to rip it to shreads morgan if you wish, hard to improve if you do not point out whats wrong or what could be done different.
 
I think the best model ,the Dutchman should be based on, is the Warship! Please keep that in mind ;-)
 
It's certainly a good start. I know the first 3D models I made for a sailing simulator called Virtual Sailor were also quite laughable. But my last model was actually pretty convincing. As long as you persist and keep trying, eventually you'll get there. And this is certainly a good first try. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

And shall I tell you that I was the first one to post it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> (bit out of place, I think it was in changing the mainquest to jack sparrow story topic)

so this will be enough don't you think, or you get a trail of blueprints on the forum

Well, you know that you can find the schematic along with a really, really tiny one for the Black Pearl. There is also TONS of pictures and info at <a href="http://pirates.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page" target="_blank">http://pirates.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page</a>. I discovered it accidentally.
